76 days later...

wow has it really been that many days. not suprzing really. i have been off LJ for a veriety of reasons (mostly avoiding reading perticular posts, there is only so much "jae won't talk to me" i can take, while feeling the exact same way). i just needed to get away from it and compose myself. i'm too stuburn. well i'm back. i make no pretence about how offten i will update. about as regularly as i used to, and i will disapper without notice again, but anyone can find me dispite that (email or just tell someone your looking for me). as far as an update, just wanted to tell everyone i'm alive and well, still unemployeed, regularly depressive and gaming more regularly than i used to. been hanging out (when i can) with brian, mary, karyn, kcat and whit mostly (i do intend to stay as neutral as i can in the recent drama there, too many long time friends involved, and i have so few friends that i don't want to lose any over it). and for refferance i DID NOT ever say leanna was definetly comeing home, it is a possibility, yes i would love it to happen but her career is more important than my desire to have my best friend home. well anyway, i might add something later, have fun all

Tips for Travelling in the South

Avoid a Good Southern Ass Whuppin… Issued by the Southern Tourism Bureau
to ALL visiting Northerners, Northeasterners, Northwesterners, Westerners
and Southwestern Urbanites

1) Don’t order filet mignon or pasta primavera at Waffle House. It’s just
a diner. They serve breakfast 24 hours a day. Let them cook something they
know. If you confuse them, they’ll kick your ass.

2) Don’t laugh at our Southern names (Merleen, Luther, Tammy Lynn, Inez,
Billy Joe, Sissy, Clovis, etc.) or we will just HAVE to kick your ass.

3) Don’t order a bottle of pop or a can of soda down here. Down here it’s
called Coke. Nobody gives a flying rat’s ass whether it’s Pepsi, RC, Dr.
Pepper, 7-Up or whatever… it’s still a Coke. Accept it. Doing otherwise
can lead to an ass kicking.

4) We know our heritage. Most of us are more literate than you (e. g.
Welty, Williams, Faulkner). We are also better educated and generally a
lot nicer. Don’t refer to us as a bunch of hillbillies or we’ll kick your
ass.

5) We have plenty of business sense (e. g., Fred Smith of Fed Ex, Sam
Walton, Turner Broadcasting, MCI WorldCom, MTV, Netscape). Naturally, we
do, sometimes, have small lapses in judgment (e. g. John Edwards, Al Gore,
Bill Clinton, David Duke). We don’t care if you think we are dumb. We are
not dumb enough to let someone move to our state in order to run for the
Senate. If someone tried to do that, we would kick his/her ass.

6) Don’t laugh at our Civil War monuments. If Lee had listened to
Longstreet and flanked Meade at Gettysburg instead of sending Pickett up
the middle, you’d be paying taxes to Richmond instead of Washington. If
you visit Stone Mountain and complain about the carving, we’ll kick your
ass.

7) We are fully aware of how high the humidity is, so shut the hell up.
Just spend your money and get the hell out of here, or we’ll kick your
ass.

8) Don’t order wheat toast at Cracker Barrel. Everyone will instantly know
that you’re a Yankee. Eat your biscuits like God intended with gravy. And
don’t put sugar on your grits, or we’ll kick your ass.

9) Don’t fake a Southern accent. This will incite a riot, and you will get
your ass kicked.

10) Don’t talk about how much better things are at home because we know
better. Many of us have visited Northern hellholes like Detroit, Chicago,
and DC, and we have the scars to prove it. If you don’t like it here,
Delta is ready when you are. Move your ass on home before it gets kicked.

11) Yes, we know how to speak proper English. We talk this way because we
don’t want to sound like you. We don’t care if you don’t understand what
we are saying. All other Southerners understand what we are saying, and
that’s all that matters. Now, go away and leave us alone, or we’ll kick
your ass.

12) Don’t complain that the South is dirty and polluted. None of OUR lakes
or rivers have caught fire recently. If you whine about OUR scenic beauty,
we’ll kick your ass all the way back to Boston Harbor.

13) Don’t ridicule our Southern manners. We say sir and ma’am. We hold
doors open for others. We offer our seats to old folks because such things
are expected of civilized people. Behave yourselves around our sweet
little gray-haired grandmothers or they’ll kick some manners into your ass
just like they did ours.

14) So you think we’re quaint, or losers, because most of us live in the
countryside? That’s because we have enough sense to not live in filthy,
smelly, crime infested cesspools like New York, Baltimore or Boston. Make
fun of our fresh air, and we’ll kick your ass.

15) Last, but not least, DO NOT DARE to come down here and tell us how to
cook barbecue. This will get your ass shot (right after it is kicked).
You’re lucky we let you come down here at all. Criticize our barbecue, and
you will go home in a pine box… minus your ass.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

so apperently book 6 got a name shortly after my birthday (funny my movie sites ussually keep me informed of harry potter book, guess after the last movie they don't care much) well i decided to go after harry potter news and found it had been named, is about half way done and that there is an EXCERPT of book 6 cleverly hidden on her website. any news sourse has detailed, easy to follow instructions stasrting with "go to the door that used to say do not disturb on it" but i have never been to that site (whitch is vast with lots and lots of slow loading flash screens) after about 40 min of looking for a bloody door (another site had pictures of it but no bloody directions where it is) i went to a yahoo chat room and muddled around there til some one finaly told me "click her hair tie". so another 20 min later (the dart baord is finiky and tyou have to find a lightswitch in the dark, turn the light switch off then click the darkness by the handle of the door) and i found it!!!!!!!!

its all of 3 lines long and can be found in its entirety below the first article that i read that sent me on the damned harry potter adventure in the first place (i thought excerpt as in a paragraph, a chapter, not 2 sentances).
i'm really yempted to post it here, but some want to remain virginal till they have the prose in-hand, but if you ask nicly i'll email them or read them to you over a candle light dinner (you pay for the dinner of course).

alright, that was my adventure of the morning. time to clean

"but if you really wanna see some gore and blood, wait til the ravers come to the vampire club" Voltaire - The Vampire Club

well i left a depressed LJ post a few days ago, stressing over sevreal issues in my life.it didn't seem to post (happening a bit latly). but i'm better now. i think all the theropy i needed was to laugh at stuart as he fired me and got an extra bit of satisfaction in telling him not to call me back like harry ("if its me coming in and saving your ass again or closing the store, then i hope you can get the store boarded up cheap"). i had to resist calling him a fat bastard, i wanted to get my point of "this is the best thing he's done for me in ages" accross. really i haven't tried all that hard there scence he gave me the management positon in july and then within 2 days harry was back again. i even came in to cover harry walking out again after that. so i'm on the hunt for employment again, but i'm happy bout it.

so as most of you know i havn't updated LJ or answered E mail in ages. its been a difficult month with lots of twists and turns. but i'm back (well as long as shit holds out) and forgive the misspellings or bad typing, being a month out of typing practice is less forgiving than a thought it would be.
whats been going on.

computer repairs and upgrades (half the reason i was off line was the fixxing and upgrading from the greatest step dad ever)better memory and a DVD BURNER. (yes jes, i am going to burn BR as soon as i can)

work. we are mnoving my store, don't know when but the details i do know are. new adress will be thw patioed cursed unit on tate street right beside NYP. the name will be Bar & Grill (wow ain't that original), my posision will be prep cook. there is also a store opening up at friendly center, but i don't know detail on that except that it will be the store that stuart runs and Jean will be the GM on tate
need OTS sticker.

new music video, battle royal - stabbing westward - save yourself
future projects utena - poe - trigger happy jack
trigun - moulin rouge - on with the show redux
mystrious cities of gold - still deciding on a song, suggestions?

saw spiderman 2 its better than the original, saw Saved! loved it a lot, saw bubba ho-tep and was weirded out.

recent DVD aquisitions Down with Love, and Ki Ki's Deliverey service.

games finished, fina; fantasy 5

faverite world news. new findings by the casni spacecraft show a lot about sateren and its moons. including the discovery of primordial life conditions on Titan, much like jupiters's moon Europa.

ppl who i have missed cause of lack of communication ability. Kit (stop and accaully say hi, i have been tring to ask you out for coffee to catch up) and Karyn(sorry about the july 4th party but i had to work. all of it)

okey, i'm going to go make rounds and catch up and DL some essntuals.

Battle Royale Issues

So there are 2 types broadcast standards (accually 4 but one is exclusive to france and the other is a version of pal) for tvs, VCRs and DVD players. PAL and NTSC (look on DVDs and PS games and you'll find NTSC near the region code.

In Europe, sans france, they use PAL. Whitch means that the DVD copy of Battle Royale does not work on anerican DVD players, even though there is no region code on the DVD. Damn. so now if i want to show anyone this wonderful near banned (not accually banned, freedom of speach and all, but not distributed in the US)movie i have to bring them here. this is a problem sometimes, esspecially scense when its 90 degrees outside its like 80 in here.

well anyway thats my rant for today.

for more info on Broadcast Standards such as PAL, NTSC and SECAM.....
http://www.alkenmrs.com/video/standards.html

what is it about my me....

that makes accedents a way of life for me. i see an average of 1 auto accedent a month most of the time at a safe distance (i was on spring garden when a van rear ended a car in the intersection of SG and Tate) but some times like today, i'm right there lucky to have quick reflexes or strange luck.

so due to rising gas porices (i'm broke) and my brakes i have been walking a lot of places. wel today i decided to go get lunch so i walked to hardee's. at the intersection of aycock and benjerman pkwy i was crossing at a red light ands no sooner then i had crossed the path of an SUV WHAM it gets hit by another car. had i been a few seconds sooner i would have been roadkill.

well anyway. i did get my lunch and the cops only held me up by about 15 min. think i'll watch battle royale before i go to work. cheers (hehehe)

A Post Just Because

so now that everyone has called me nasty names for not updating in so long, esspecially after i got back from london. well i really wanted my first postr to be this really long "HOW GRAND IS LONDON" thing i was writing. but thats gone (Damn random crashes) so i got into a "nothing happened today, i'll post tommorow" and "damn i don't want to look at a computer" modes. well i can't procratinate forever.

Whats going on in my life? well i have been too lazy to clean. my car has no breaks, so i have been walking alot again. i walked yesterday to the office of campus crossings (the APT complex i amn hoping to move into) to find out it is wayt across town. gonna try and grind my way there tommorow as i really need to know by tommorow.
i was sick over the weekend, food poisining is what it felt like.been tring to track down a copy of Battle Royale II. like its predacesor, it is not avalible in the us (most distributers don't want to deal with the contaversy of kids killing kids on screen) and i was so impressed by the first one (a suvinour from london). my answering machine is oin the fritz and i am getting about half my messages, i missed leanna being in NC because of that. the video tape i ordered for mothers day didn't arive by sunday and monday they called and told me the distributer does not have it anymore (if anyone has a copy of Mr's Parker and the Viciaous Circle, i wanna borrow it). hellboy was bettere the second time around, van helsing is a great idea for camp children's saturday morning cartoon but not a major motion picture. and JOHN MALCOVICH IS VOLDERMORT!!!!!! lesson to all, when you ask someone to record something off of TV while you are out of town, give them the right channel instead of angel and smallville, i got enterprize and reality tv. okey that about it for ranting. if i begain to lapse again, feel free to berate me by E mail

GEEK WARNING: My IMDB Message Board Post

if anyone didn't know i am a somewhat regular poster on IMDB's message board, being the movie nut i am. i usually leave remarks but on a whim, i decided to accually get the ball rolling on a though i had been toying with so i ended up writing a
GEEK-ESSAY. as to not let an finly devised and well written thoughts on superman and smallville go to waste on the creatons who imhabit that board, i thought i'd post it here for accual friends (though no one i know here is a big smallvile fan) to read and maybe add your thoughts.

DO WE REALLY NEED A SUPERMAN MOVIE
can be found @ http://imdb.com/title/tt0279600/board/flat/7836614?d=7836614#7836614

i really don't think a new superman movie is really needed. okey so Warner has been tring to getra superman movie off the ground sense the late ninties. but somewhere along the line a couple of fellahs got together and made this really kickass show about superman in his youth. Why does warner want to still get this movie into production when it is going to do more harm than good.

everything has gone wrong with this movie. the original director Brett Ratner's contract ran out, he was relived. jon peters, whom asked kevin smith to have braniac fight polar bears, kill one and let the other one go free so the PETA people woudn't get pissed, is still producing it and has to have his way (gag). and the horiable line of potential cast members that started back in the old days with NICOLAS CAGE!!

Smallville on the otherhand has a great thing going for it. it has a large fanbase. the acting and writing keep getting better. and tom welling has the greatest "superman" presense of any actor sense Christopher Reave (whom endorsed tom welling some a year ago). the potential for this show is amazing.

i don't know if anyone remembers the 80's superboy syndication. it was killed quickly for reasons that i am not sure of. but their plan from the begaining was to make a series of superboy and then after the show ran it's course, they would do Superman TV movies (even had plans for a bigscreen adaption).

I think that smallville could take a que from this show. After the series ends (assuming Tom would be willing) Do a movie then, kind of a self contained continuation in metropolis. i have alwaysed hoped that at the makers of smallville would at least carry on the show with TV movies personally.

Maybe the movie will be in production hell untill smallville runs its course and see if WB gets the idea. out with McG and Peters, in with Miller and Gough

thankyou for reading my random rant
